1st Day of Kindergarten

Kyle started kindergarten this year. You would think I would have a ton of pictures to share from his first day. Nope! I was so scatter brained that day, I did not even get a picture of him and his teacher.

Ready to leave. He was so excited about his Lightening McQueen backpack and lunch box.
We had to park pretty far away from the school so this was during our walk to the front door. The one and only picture I took of him in his classroom. He looks a little bit nervous. ;)

Random Pictures

These are just some random pictures that were taken over the summer.

Kaden's favorite stuffed animal was Clifford. These are a few pictures of his love affair with him. He has since moved on to taking 3 foot tall Elmo everywhere he goes.
This is Kyle as "Star Wars Guy".
Brother Hugs!
This is "Chemlawn Guy". The goggles are his sunglasses and the microphone is his sprayer. Crazy kid!
Kaden cracking himself up in his brother's safety goggles.
Best buddies!

Play Date

We had a play date with a few of Kyle's preschool friends over the summer.

Kyle leading the way to the mall play area.
Kaden checking out the giant grapefruit.
Miss Sammie has a little crush on Kyle. :)
Having a little lollipop break.

4th of July

Just picking up where I left off 2 MONTHS AGO.... We spent the 4th of July at Gran and Pop Pop's house.

Kyle filling up the pool.
Kaden "helping" his brother.
Kaden adjusting his super soaker. Kaden doing his favorite activity...watching airplanes.
Since Gran and Pop Pop live out in the sticks, they are allowed to do fireworks in the backyard. This one did not work out as planned.
Nathan borrowed the kids super soaker to put out a little fire. Ha!
And that's where the pictures ended that night. The entire neighborhood was putting on their own shows. Ours was a little too close for comfort so I spent the rest of the night protecting the kids from all of the debris. It was a lot of fun though!

Kyle's Birthday

On Kyle's birthday we had a little mini celebration with Aunt Amy. We had our first trip to the Beach Club during the day and Kyle's choice of CiCi's for dinner. Yum! (Just a little sarcasm!)

Kyle opening a few presents. (Please ignore the disaster area! We were still in the process of unpacking and decorating.).

"Star Wars Guy" putting the candles on his cake.

"Star Wars Guy" blowing out his candles. :)

Awww....

My son doing what he calls "the bootie dance". Nice!

I don't remember what had happened here but I thought it was too pitiful not to post. Poor Kaden!

Kyle and Kaden's Birthday Party

On June 21st, Kyle and Kaden had their birthday party at Pump It Up. Kyle loved it as usual and Kaden tolerated it which is pretty good for him.

Kyle coming down the big slide.

Kaden bouncing on the entry way to the big slide. We tried to get him to go down the slide but he was too scared.

The group shot. Kaden was way too busy to sit down for more than two seconds. :)

The birthday cake...

Yum!

My attempt at a pic of the boys with their birthday shirts. Ha!

Individual photo sessions work much better...

Gran and Pop Pop got Kyle a Wii for his birthday. He LOVES it! Check out those boxing moves...

Kaden in a daze watching his brother play Wii.

Kaden & Amy's Birthday Party

Since Kaden and Amy's birthdays are so close together we had a little celebration.

You are about to see a bunch of pictures of Kaden enjoying his party. For the most part though, this is really what he looked like that day. He was so grumpy and clingy for some reason. Yikes!

Aunt Amy managed to get a few smiles out of him.

So did Pop Pop...

Blowing out the candles on his cake. Kyle blew out one of the candles with a party blower. I am amazed that it did not catch on fire!

Gran and Kaden giving each other smooches.

Backyard Fun

These pictures were taken in May shortly after moving into our new home.

Fudgsicle messes... Kaden really got into sliding this summer. This was when he was still pretty new to it so Nathan was close by.

Just a cute picture of Kaden...

Brother hugs...

Last Day of Preschool

Kyle's end of the year preschool party was held at a park. They got to play, have a picnic, and did a little performance.

Playing on the swings... They sang 2 songs and did the alphabet in sign language. Very cute! Kyle receiving his end of the year certificate from his teacher.

Kyle's School Birthday Celebration

Kyle got to celebrate his birthday a little early at school this year. Since his birthday is in June I decided to have a little cupcake party the last week of school.

The cupcake cake that Kyle picked our for his birthday... Kyle wearing his birthday crown that his teacher made for him.

Owen's Farm

I know I am a slacker! I have done a horrible job of updating lately. I am going to try to update from where I last left off.

Nathan and Kyle went to Owen's Farm together back in April. They had a petting zoo and all sorts of fun stuff set up for the kids to do.

Kyle hanging out by the gator. Gran and Pop Pop have a battery operated gator at their house that Kyle is still afraid to drive but he seemed ok with this one. Kyle loved feeding the animals.

Kyle on top of a huge bail of hay. Way off in the background you can see what really goes on at Owen's Farm. Thankfully "how to make sausage" was not part of the kids tour.
Kyle posing in front of the animals...
Finally a picture of Nathan and Kyle.

Easter....FINALLY

I thought since it was almost May that I should post Easter pictures! Better late than never. :)

A few days before Easter, Kyle deocrated eggs.
Here he is with the finished products. We tried to get Kaden involved with decorating eggs but he was not interested.
I at least got this picture that kind of looks like he helped! Kyle made Easter cards and Kaden wanted to help this time. He put the Elmo sticker on this card.
The day before Easter we went to a egg hunt at Nanny's "apartment" as Kyle calls it. Thanks for these pictures Aunt Kathy. Mine turned out horrible.
Pop Pop and Kaden.
Kyle and Nanny.
Gran keeping Kaden happy with a little ice cream.
Finally Easter Day...it looks like the Easter Bunny came to our house.
Kaden playing with his new Elmo remote control.
Nathan and Kyle playing with the Hot Wheels Crashers.
Later on Easter Day, we went to Gran and Pop Pop's house. Kyle decorated more eggs, did a craft project, and decorated cupcakes and cookies.
Kyle looking for eggs.
Kaden was more interested in playing than looking for eggs but we managed to get this one picture of him picking up an egg. I think that was the only egg that he touched.
Kyle with his basket full of eggs.

Catchin' Up

It has been a while since I have posted so I need to catch up.

This is Kyle's preschool picture. I thought it was cute for a school picture! It is a scan so it pretty dark.
Thanks to dinosaur week at school, Kyle will finally play with this toy. Gran and Pop Pop bought it for him a couple of years ago and he has been terrified of it since then. Now it is one of his favorite toys!
Kyle was entered into a drawing at his dentist office for having no cavities. He won! He received two tickets to the Mavericks vs Kings game and 2 parking passes! He had a blast! His favorite part about the game....the Chili's blimp!
His second favorite part was the cotton candy!
He loved his foam finger so much, he even took it to bed with him (along with every stuffed animal he owns)!
We also got a little bit of snow. Here he is attempting a snow angel.
For St. Patrick's Day he had to make a leprechaun trap.
The kids set there traps up to see if they could catch a leprechaun. Kyle's is on the far left side in the front.
The kids had to wear "special glasses" to see the leprechauns. Unfortunately, no one caught a leprechaun since so they are so fast but they did leave behind lots of gold!
I just realized that I do not have a single picture of Kaden for this post! He is way too busy to sit still for a picture.

Kyle's 1st Swimming Lessons

Kyle started swimming lessons today. Going by the looks of the other kids in his beginners class we are starting this a little late. Poor Kyle! He is my little guinea pig. I will be sure to start Kaden at 3 years old instead of 4.

At the beginning of class they "crawled" the entire length of the pool. Now sure why. I guess they were making sure the kids were strong enough to pull themselves up.
Swimming! (Well if you count someone holding your hands in position and another person helping you kick your feet!)

Kyle's Valentine's Party

Kyle's class had a Friendship Party on Valentine's Day. More blurry pictures thanks to me not noticing the camera was on the wrong setting!

Walking around in a circle to a song that I can't remember.
Marching around in a circle to yet another song that I can't remember. Snack time with heart shaped cookies and juice.
Card exchange!

Kyle and Chelsea

I walked into the living room and found Kyle and Chelsea like this....

Chelsea must be pretty special to Kyle. Kaden is not even allowed to look at Kyle's beloved "cool blanket" much less cover up with it.

Playing Outside!

Last weekend the weather was nice enough to play outside. This was really the first time Kaden has gotten to enjoy the backyard. It has been cold weather ever since he learned to walk. He loved it! All of the pictures of him are pretty blurry because he would not stand still long enough to get his picture taken.

Trying out the slide for the first time.
He loved walking around on the grass!
Kyle found a dandelion to make a wish on.
Cheeseball...

Outdoor Learning Center Fieldtrip

Kyle's class visited the Plano ISD Outdoor Learning Center a few weeks ago. The highlight of the trip for Kyle was his 1st bus ride. It was only about a 5 minute trip but he loved every second of it.

Getting on the bus for the 1st time
A yucky frog!
Ralph "The Kissing Fish" An aligator! Kyle and a cayman.
Kyle and one of his favorite girls Marilynn.
We also got to see a bobcat, monkey, pot bellied pig and lots of gross stuff like snakes and bugs. They even had a tank full of roaches! YUCK!
